Masterson’s Pub , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my latest trip at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I discovered behind its threshold was disturbing and far below any standard .
The State of the Venue : Grimy and Disregarded
From the moment I walked in , it was immediately obvious that sanitation was not a priority at this venue. The floors were sticky , and a nauseating aroma of decaying beverages and uncleaned toilets permeated the entire bar . Reeking of a mixture of ammonia , old age and a sickly smell. The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and trash that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The bathroom was in even worse condition — clogged , with a cracked flush mechanism and walls covered in what I can only assume was feces.
It wasn’t just a single bad experience either.
